Mission

The mission of the Economic Development Authority (EDA) is to provide a professional management program that assists industrial and commercial development activities that minimize impacts to the environment, transportation systems, municipal water and sewer, and financial resources for the city.

Overview

The St. Joseph EDA, as a driving force for economic development, pursues the following core functions and strategic directions:

  • Organization Development
    Coordinate activities and goals with the City Council and Planning Commission
  • Infrastructure Development
    Assist with infrastructure development so that facilities and development sites are available and ready for development
  • Business Development
    Business recruitment, entrepreneurial development, and business retention and expansion
  • Workforce Development
    Working with state agencies to link available educational opportunities with business needs
  • Market Development
    Promoting the city both with existing business and potential new markets
